College basketball players are more susceptible to emotional swings than NBA players. For this reason, you must pay attention to any recent news and events swirling around the team. For those that don’t already know, college basketball works on the spread system. For example, let’s say you have UCLA playing at Duke and Duke is -8. You have two options. You can take Duke and lay the 8 points, which means Duke must win by more than 8 for you to win—8 is a tie and only wins on some parlay cards. Your other option is to take UCLA and the 8 points. As long as UCLA win or does not lose by more than 7, you win. If they lose by 8, you tie. College basketball betting also features the totals line. Not every game played will have a totals line at every sports book. The totals line is the total number of points scored by both participants at an event. For example, if the totals line was 130, you could bet the over or the under. Take the over and you want both teams to combine for 130 or more points. Take the under and you want both teams to combine for 130 or fewer points. Totals lines in college basketball can be both profitable and tricky at the same time. Beware gambling can increase your debt problems

Are you the type of person who likes to take a gamble from time to time on things such as the result of a horse race? Would you say that you have an addiction to gambling? In this article, I write about a friend of mine who tried to gamble her way out of debt, however she was not successful and ended up with an even bigger debt problem. My friend is called Emma. She is not exactly what you would call good with money and I am often amazed at the amounts she spends when we go out shopping together. Emma earns a fairly good wage but many people would probably expect that she earns three times this amount by her attitude towards money. If there is a store card available, Emma will sign up for it. I have often tried to advise her that she could find herself in a nasty position if she does not take more care with her finances, but she would never listen and thought that I was just too careful and even tight with my own money. About a year ago, Emma confided to me that she was in quite a large amount of debt. She had bought a lot of items on her credit cards and had been unable to make all of the repayments. Emma also had a car loan which she also found hard to pay back, she of course had to drive around in the best car. Emma said that it was not a problem as she was looking into ways of reducing these debts and had read many debt consolidation articles on the internet, which had provided her with some useful information. Six months later, Emma confided in me again. She now stated that she was in too deep and that she had been stupid as she had tried to gamble her way out of debt. I could not believe it, however tried to remain positive for her sake. I asked her to explain what had happened. She replied that she had started to play poker on the internet. Originally it was only for a bit of fun and in the first two months she was up around three hundred dollars. Emma then thought that this was a possible way to help her to reduce her debts and started to play for much higher stakes. Her winning streak was not to last and she ended up losing a lot of money. The uigea and its effects

On a careful study of the UIGEA I have come to the conclusion that it is a very cleverly planned act, and very effective in its objective which supposedly is to wipe out internet gambling in the United States. Strangely however the US government seems to be ignoring its forty states that currently offer various types of lotteries. Perhaps one factor to be duly noted is that the U. S government makes a lot of money from these state lotteries. It does not however make money from online gaming because most of the web casinos American players interact with are based offshore. Overall this seems to be a rather hypocritical approach and we all wonder why the government cannot just tax internet gaming and make everyone happy. The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act has brought about some serious changes within the few months of it being instituted. The results could have been seen the very next day when 6.5 billion was erased from the value of online gambling shares immediately after the U. S. Congress passed the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act that banned Internet gaming. Since the UIGEA, PartyPoker, one of the largest poker sites on the internet, exited the market. This would have caused a drastic drop in the online company's financial standing as 78 percent of revenue earned by the United Kingdom-based gambling organization PartyGaming Plc came from the U. S. customers transacting with the website PartyPoker. The UIGEA prevents financial institutions in the U. S such as banks and credit card firms from transacting in regards to fund transfers with any of the Internet-based casinos located offshore. Since then, the American gaming public has been rejected from various online casinos that have yielded to the pressure of U. S congress laws. According to these laws any "person engaged in the business of betting or wagering" deliberately transacting with online web casino companies is guilty of "unlawful Internet gambling" and is liable to face fines or even a 5 year imprisonment. This bill also forbids financial institutions from sending money to intermediaries such as online payment companies. The founders of NETeller, one of the largest online payment companies in existence today, faced criminal indictments brought against it by the US Department of Justice. However this act had 270 days during which guidelines and regulations for enforcement of the act should have been drawn. This period ended on the 20th of July, 2007 without anything being drawn up. There have been many an effort to have the game of poker excluded from the act. There is also a serious program that is ensuing where those against the act are trying their best to get it repealed. Like alchohol prohibition, it probably will be repealed in the end.

War, what is it good for? Absolute fun and profit, that's what it's good for! If your childhood was anything like mine, you played the card game War often. One day the casino execs woke up and decided to bring this popular card game to the casino. In Las Vegas, War was a side game. If a casino had it, the game was given one table spot in the pit. Thankfully, online casinos aren't limited to floor space and that's why most online casinos have War. Okay, I'm not going to assume you know how to play, so I'll start at the beginning. Well, if you're not going to war, why play the game. Honestly, the fold option makes no sense. It's just there to take advantage of the suckers. I mean think about it. The deck is fresh. Two cards are out. You and the dealer have the same cards. Why on earth would you fold? Instead, your move is to double your wager (required to stay in the hand) and see what happens. It's just like the classic game. Three cards are placed face down on each hand and a fourth card is placed face up. If your fourth card is higher than the dealer's fourth card, you win. If not, you lose. It's as simple as that. There's no thinking in this game. It's a fun game to kick back to. You place your wager, get a card and win, lose or go to war. The payout is always even money no matter how you win. Actually, war can be a blessing. It's the only way you can increase your original wager. Example Hand: You place a $5 bet. The dealer gets a 7 and you get a 7. You decide to stay in and go to war, so you place an additional $5 wager-$10 total now. You and the dealer get three down cards and a fourth up card. The dealer shows a 6 and you show a 10. You win and are promptly paid $10.
